Vera May Hammer, 86, of Medicine Lodge, KS, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital, Medicine Lodge, KS. She was born on September 14, 1930 in Foss, Oklahoma, the daughter of Hughie Albert Allison and May Rebecca (Lindsay) Allison. On December 1, 1951, she married Charles Harvey Hammer. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2007. Vera was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bessie, OK and attended the First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge, KS. Surviving are one daughter, Lois (Bill) Gallaugher of Sawyer, KS; one granddaughter, Melissa (Josh) Jacobs & children Olivia & Thatcher of Pratt, KS; her brothers and sisters, Myrtle, James, Victor, Faye, Louise, Mildred, Patsy & Shirley. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Glen, & one brother, William. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Union Hatchett Cemetery, Bessie, OK with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.
