Thomas "Tommy" James Becker

Pratt - Thomas "Tommy" James Becker, 55, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Kansas City. He was born on May 19, 1966 in Pratt to Richard Wayne and Barbara Mae (Larson) Becker. Tommy married Mary (Voss) Becker on October 22, 1994 in Pratt. They were married for 27 years. Tommy graduated from Pratt High School in 1984. He went to Kansas University where he was the Punter for the football team for one year. He then came back to Pratt and attended Pratt Community College and played baseball until he was picked up by the New York Mets. He played for the Mets for 1.5 years. He played on the single A Little Falls, New York team and then moved on to Double AA Columbia, South Carolina until he was injured and released and came back to Kansas to attend Emporia State University. He worked for Becker & Son Roofing and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting and spending time outside. He is survived by his wife, Mary Becker; son, Braydon Thomas Becker of Pratt; daughters, Breann Inez (fiance, Josh Norlin) Becker of Wichita and Adison Mae Becker of Pratt; parents, Richard and Barbara Becker; brothers, Kevin (Stephanie) Becker of Pratt and Keith Becker of Derby; parents in-law, Harold and Norma Voss of Pratt; and many nieces and nephews. Tommy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Lela Becker and Oscar and Dortha Wendt and mother in-law, Inez Voss. Visitation will be Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Vigil and Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 28, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt with Father Floyd McKinnesy presiding. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in care of Larrison Mortuary.
