Thelma Shinliver Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

MEDICINE LODGE- Thelma Jean Shinliver, 88, of Medicine Lodge, KS died Saturday February 2, 2013 at the Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital. She was born on October 30, 1924 in Nashville, KS, the daughter of Ira J. Mease and Bernice L. (Meek) Mease. On March 16, 1946, she married Dwaine Shinliver. He preceded her in death in 1995. Mrs. Shinliver was a member of the Community Church of Sharon, KS and attended the First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge, KS. She was also a member of the Barber County Study & Social Club and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, and crocheting. Surviving are her children, Sanka Hornecker & husband Gerry of Warrenton, MO, Dennis Shinliver and wife Shirley of Argonia, KS, Gary Shinliver and wife Marilyn of Wichita, KS, Greg Shinliver and wife Donna of Medicine Lodge, KS, Cheryl Donelan and husband Dave of Wichita, KS, Danny Shinliver and wife Beth of Nashville, KS, and Randy Shinliver and wife Shirlene of Nashville, KS; 21 Grandchildren & 23 Great-Grandchildren; Three sisters, Lois Harding & husband Eugene of Concordia, KS, Shirley Shaddox of Kingman, KS, & Wanda Hartman & husband Carl of Isabel, KS; Two sisters-in-law, Peggy Mease of Nashville, KS & Charlene Kennedy & husband Paul of Sawyer, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, Kim Thornbro, a sister, Marjorie Lauterbach & a brother, Pete Mease. Visitation will be on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at the Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge,KS. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.at the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating. Inurnment will be at the Liberty Cemetery, Nashville, KS at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Medicine Lodge Community Health Foundation (Clarke Challenge) or to the First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, KS in care of Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.
