Ruth Lucelle Barbour

February 16, 1926 - February 13, 2022

Ruth Lucille Barbour, 95, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022. She was born on February 16, 1926 in Turon, KS to Harrison and Georgia Elliot. As a young teen Ruth worked at a restaurant where she met her husband, Joe Barbour. They married on July 8, 1944, then they moved to Pratt where they raised their 4 children. Ruth graduated from Turon High School. She worked as retail clerk at Duckwall's and she also worked at the Pratt Tribune. She was a founding member of the Fireliters Camping Club in Pratt. Ruth cared deeply for her family. She was always involved in charitable work and doing anything she could for others. She enjoyed camping, gardening, traveling, crafting, cooking, as well as making candy every year for Christmas. She is survived by sons, Dennis (Jacqueline) Barbour and Stanley Barbour; grandchild, Gage Barbour; sisters, Carol Geiger and Mert "Maggie" Gowan. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Barbour; parents, Harrison Elliot and Georgia M. Thorp; son, Charles Barbour; daughter, Ruth Ann Stiener; grandchild, Laura Diane Barr; son-in-law, Andrew Steiner; and brother, Dwayne Elliot. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2022 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt with Steve Gill presiding. Burial will follow at Turon Cemetery, Turon. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association in care of Larrison Mortuary.
