Rose (Darr) Elmore, 85, of Pratt, KS and former Alva, OK resident, died Monday, November 30, 2020 in her home at Parkwood Village, Pratt, KS. She was born on April 23, 1935 in Freedom, OK, the youngest child to Jack and Cynthia (Rackley) Darr. Rose graduated from Alva High School in 1953 and attended Northwestern University for two years. She married Kenneth Elmore on December 18, 1955 after he returned from the service. Kenneth and Rose raised their family on the farm. Rose was a “stay at home mother” and was active with her family. She also worked on the family farm and ranch operation with Kenneth and his deceased parents, Archie and Velma Elmore. The Elmore family raised registered quarter horses; custom baled and custom harvested for over 30 years and Rose operated a commercial upholstery shop and enjoyed sewing for her family. Rose retired from the farm and ranch operation in 2013. Rose loved to read and was a mentor reader at the Alva Elementary Schools for several years. She enjoyed travel and remained active. She loved time with her family. Rose is survived by her two children: son, Jimmie (Donna) Elmore of Elgin, OK and daughter, Connie (Mark) Watts of Medicine Lodge, KS; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; three nephews, three nieces, several cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by an infant sibling, her parents, her in-laws and husband Kenneth Elmore; her siblings and their spouses, Merritt Darr, Linda Miller, Kay Koch, and Delza Miller; her sister and brother-in-law, Doris May (Bob) Kimmell. Rose was full of humor, spirit, adventure, caring and loving. We will miss her. Friends may sign the register book on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Hardtner Cemetery, Hardtner, KS with Pastor Tom Walters officiating.
