Richard G. “Bud” Clark, 80, of Protection, KS died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Comanche County Hospital, Coldwater, KS. He was born on May 12, 1936 in Pratt, KS, the son of Floyd Clark and Mary (Smith) Clark. On June 6, 1959, he married Virginia Lee (Blackard) Clark at the United Methodist Church in Pratt, KS. She survives. Mr. Clark was a 1955 graduate of Pratt High School and was a member of the Protection Baptist Church, Protection, KS. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to all. Surviving in addition to his wife, Virginia Clark are three sons, Neil (Cindy) Clark of Alabama, Doug (Tonya) Clark of Wichita, KS, and Rick (Dee) Clark of Wichita, KS; one daughter, Sueann (Donny) Sawyers of Protection, KS; Eight grandchildren & seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marion (Marian) Clark of Colorado & Milford Clark of Wyoming; two sisters, Millie Hammond of Colorado & Charlotte (Howard) Solley of Garden City, KS; Numerous nieces & nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Wayne, Bill, & Gloyd Clark; and one sister, Annie O’Brien. Cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will be held at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka, KS at a later date.
