Peggy Weikal

Sawyer- Peggy Beatrice Weikal, age 82, died December 10, 2011 at Pratt Regional Medical Center. She was born October 2, 1929 in rural Furnace County, Nebraska, south of Edison two miles up on the hill, the daughter of Wade Earnest and Beatrice Elain (Harding) Hubbard. Peggy worked at several restaurants and worked as a machinist at Cessna-Eaton, retiring in 1991. She was an artist and took many awards for her paintings, wood carvings and ceramics. She was an avid reader and gardener. She married Richard Leon Weikal on December 2, 1950 in Kingman, KS. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2007. They had four children: Cindy Moore of Tulsa, OK, Richard Leon Jr. of Wichita, Jill Bryant of El Dorado, KS and Jan Weikal of Sawyer. Four grandchildren: Drake, Abby, Jessica and Logan. Four great-grandchildren: Andrew, Evie, Kyler, Ethan, Olivia, Leila and Hayden and an aunt, Margie Eubank of Sawyer. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Betty June Hubbard and Bonnie Marie Davis. Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt.
