Mary Margurite Chinn

Mary Chinn, 96, passed away Friday, November 1, 2019, at Pratt Health and Rehab. She was born on February 1, 1923, near Bolivar, Missouri to John V. and Susie Lucinda (Staffen) Goldsberry. On December 28, 1944, she married Jack Chinn in Sun City. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2005. Mary was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Pratt. She assisted her husband Jack when he served the Pratt County Historical Society. She was also a lifelong seamstress, making her own clothes and many clothing items for the residents of Pratt county. From her lifelong commitment to Christian missions, she also made several hundred dresses for poor children and women in India. Her main roles in life were being a wife, mother, and grandma. She is survived by her sons and wives, Ed and Joanne Chinn of Spring Hill, Tennessee; Vernon and Betty Chinn of Pratt; and Carl and Deana Chinn of Elbert, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Jack, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Mildred Brooks and Leona Clanton; brothers, Emil, Henry, Truman and Fred Goldsberry; and grandson, Paul Chinn. Visitation will be Sunday, November 10, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2019, at Reach (Assembly of God) Church, 1000 East 6th St, Pratt. Burial will follow at Coats Cemetery, Coats, Kansas.
