James "Jim" Paul Bettes

Pratt - James "Jim" Paul Bettes, 76, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022 at Pratt Health and Rehab. He was born on June 14, 1945 in Larned to Wilbur and Mabel (Hawkins) Bettes. Jim married Ella Mae (Woods) Bettes on June 19, 1964 in Burdett. She preceded him in death on January 25, 2007. Jim enjoyed attending auctions, making model cars and watching movies. He is survived by his grandchildren, Christina Hylton of La Crosse, Kayla Hylton of La Crosse, Ivan Hurley of Wichita, Autumn and Thomas Bettes; son, Paul Bettes of Colorado; sisters, Mary Thompson of Dodge City and Nancy Garland of California; brothers, Alvin Bettes of Eucha, Oklahoma and Kenneth (Becky) Bettes of Pratt; and great grandchildren, Cherish and Kristian McAlister and Lana Waters, Scott Arnold and Andrew Mauer. Jim is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Joyce Hurley; brothers, Donnie Bettes and Clyde Bettes; and sister, Peggy Sommers. Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg. Memorials may be made to Jim Bettes Memorial Fund in care of Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt.
