Howard Schnittker

July 24, 1938 - January 20, 2014

Howard Michael Schnittker (Brother Michael, C.Ss.R.) 75, died January 20, 2014 at St. Clement Health Care Center, Liguori, MO from an injury sustained in a fall. He was born July 24, 1938 at Pratt, KS, the son of Joseph A. and Elsie A. (Glenn) Schnittker. He served in the US Navy from 1959 to 1963 receiving a good conduct medal. He joined the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, Providence of Denver on August 5, 1973 and became “Brother Michael.” He is survived by a sister, Joleen Tustin, Great Bend, KS; a brother, Delmar Schnittker, Grand Lake, CO; and 14 nieces and nephews. A Rosary service was held on Thursday, January 23, and Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 am on January 24 both at St. Clement Chapel, Liguori, MO. He was preceded in death by a sister Norma Jean Kramp, and a brother Leon Schnittker. Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Monday, January 27, 2014 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, KS 67124 with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 pm at Maud Cemetery, Cunningham, KS.
