Ella Fern Chenoweth Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Ella Fern Chenoweth, 97, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Grand Plains Skilled Nursing. She was born on August 1, 1924 in Pratt, KS to George and Minnie (Miller) Meyer. Ella Fern married Lawrence Dean Chenoweth on April 5, 1943 in Medicine Lodge, KS. They were married for 71 years when Dean preceded her in death on December 17, 2014. Ella Fern graduated from Haviland High School. She was a member of Haviland United Methodist Church, Pollyanna, Eastern Star (Grand Matron) and Medicine Valley EHU. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Richard (Marybeth) Chenoweth of Brighton, CO, Dianne (Gary) Stearns of Rose Hill, KS and Daryl (Sherry) Chenoweth of Normal, IL; daughter in-law, Karen Chenoweth of Haviland; grandchildren, Darren (Kris) Chenoweth, Mary Chenoweth, Shawn (Jamie) Stearns, Kyle (Kathleen) Stearns, Deborah (Rick) Stegman, Sarah (David) Lampe, Brian Chenoweth, Chad Chenoweth and Scott (Sarah) Chenoweth; and 11 great-grandchildren. Ella Fern is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Dean Chenoweth; parents; infant son, Daryl Chenoweth; son, Donald Chenoweth; and grandson, Mark Stearns. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, 2022 from Noon - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt, KS. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 at Haviland United Methodist Church, Haviland, KS with Pastor Mark Filmore presiding. Burial will follow at Haviland Cemetery, Haviland, KS. Memorials may be made to Haviland United Methodist Church or Barclay College Nursing Program in care of Larrison Mortuary.
