Douglas Lynn Cramer

Guthrie, Oklahoma - Douglas Lynn Cramer, age 70, died on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife, Debbie Cramer by his side. Doug was born on November 12, 1950 in Hardtner to Jack and Betty Cramer. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Debbie Cramer, and three children, Justin Jorns of Fairmont, West Virginia, Barbee Ritchie (George)of Meeker, Oklahoma and Brooke Herman(Chad)of Wamego, Kansas. Doug was also a proud grandpa to five grandchildren, Jaylee Jorns of Fairmont, West Virginia, Tripp, Charlie and Prestyn Herman of Wamego and Cameron Ritchie of Meeker, Oklahoma. Doug is survived by two younger brothers, Dick Cramer(Donna) of Pratt and David Cramer(Carol) of Oklahoma. Doug has many nephews and nieces, Cara(Jason,Carson, Jacy)of Pittsburg, Matt Cramer(Mary, Riley, Elly, and Hayes)Pratt, Stacy(Jerrod, Ashton, Tristan), Cody(Amanda, Konner, Baylee, Brooklyn,Jack, Breelee), and Timothy of Woodward, Oklahoma. Doug graduated from Pratt High School in 1968 and attended Pratt Community College where he played football. He then transferred to Indiana State on a football scholarship and later attended the University of Kansas. Doug loved to ski and spent a few years in Breckenridge, Colorado, and from there he started a lifelong career in the oil and gas industry. Doug worked for EOG Resources for 20 years, retiring in 2018. Shortly after retirement, Doug accepted a position as president of God’s Food Bank in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where he was able to fulfill his passion for giving back and helping others. Doug had a passion for music. He loved to play guitar. He also enjoyed woodworking, He handcrafted many pieces of furniture for family and friends, and over the last few years he has carved over a hundred spoons that he gave to family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances from the food bank, as well as doctors/medical staff that he met along his journey. Doug had both a pilot and sailing license. He had a spirit for adventure! Last but not least, Doug had a very special place in his heart for his four-legged friends, his most loyal companion, Jake the wonder dog. Friends may sign the book Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. A private family service will take place at a later date. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. A memorial fund Has been set up for Doug at Gods Food Bank, 402 W. Vilas Ave. in Guthrie Oklahoma, where he spent the last part of his life donating his time and giving back to others.
