Darlene Becker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Isabel, KS Darlene J. Becker, 76, died Monday, January 6, 2014 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital in Medicine Lodge, Kansas. She was born November 28, 1937 at Nashville, KS the daughter of Bernard and Anna (Keiter) Theis. Darlene was Post Master at the Isabel Post Office since 1993, having also done the bookkeeping at Rangeman Becker Manufacturing. Darlene helped organize the Isabel Community Store, where she was also the bookkeeper, as well as being involved with many other Isabel Community events. She was a beloved wife and mother, always giving of her time, taking care of others first. Her favorite past time was gambling at the casino, recently getting a computer to play her many games. She was also an avid reader. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, KS, and the American Legion Auxilary. On February 17, 1958 she married William J. "Bud" Becker at Kingman, KS. He survives. She is also survived by her sons Bill Jr. (Beverly), Isabel, KS; Richard (Judy), Medicine Lodge, KS; John (Rachel), Bartlesville, OK; daughters Marilyn (Bradley) Murphy, Kathy (Gary) Balding, both of Isabel, KS; and Barbara Trott, Wellington, KS; a sister Helen Salter, Hutchinson, KS; 16 Grandchildren, and 13 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Lacie Winter, three brothers Ben and Bob, and Roman Theis, and two sisters, Mildred Kaufman, and Florence Oelkers. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, and 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, KS 67124 Vigil Service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the St. Leo Catholic Church, St. Leo, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2014 at St. Leo Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery, St. Leo, KS.
