Alan Probst Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Alan Probst, 91 of Medicine Lodge, KS died Friday, June 20, 2014 at Attica Long Term Care, Attica, KS. He was born on July 25, 1922 in Conway Springs, KS, the son of Bert L. Probst and Lora M. (Allen) Probst. On June 6, 1946 he married Geraldine Rae “Jerry” Probst in Oberlin, KS. She preceded him in death on October 1, 2004. Alan was the retired owner and pharmacist of Probst Pharmacy in Medicine Lodge, KS. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge, KS, the Lions Club and enjoyed golfing. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are five sons, David Probst of Wichita, KS, Steven(Dale) Probst of Medicine Lodge, KS, Ron (Joleen) Probst of Topeka, KS, Daniel (Charlene) Probst of Wichita, KS, & John (Kim) Probst of Wichita, KS; two daughters, Julie A Juneau of Derby, KS & Mary (Ramiro) Garcia of Ham Lake, MN; A number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Alan was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sons, Evan & Joseph Probst and two sisters, Marion & Dorothy. Visitation will be at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104, on Monday, June 23. 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Vigil Service will be on Monday, June 23, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medicine Lodge, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Rev. Firmin Kyaw officiating. Private family inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Medicine Lodge Lions Club in care of the funeral home.
