Agnes Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Macksville, Kansas ~ Agnes B. Smith, age 91, died at the Pratt Regional Medical Center, Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in Pratt, Ks. She was born March 28, 1920 in Belpre, Kansas, to the late Anthony Budde and Anna Biernacki Budde. On June 21, 1943, she married Harold Frank Smith in Bakersfield, CA. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1998. Mrs. Smith was a farmwife. She taught school, grades 1 through 8, at Clear Creek, Kansas and Trousdale, Kansas for four years. She also was an office clerk on an air base in Yuma, Arizona. She was a member of the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and the St. Bernard’s Altar Society in Belpre, Kansas. Survivors include two sons; Eric A. Smith and wife Melanie of Macksville, KS; Terry Smith and wife Nancy of Macksville, KS; two daughters; Betty Jo Roberts and husband Jon of Syracuse, IN; Kathe Cromwell and husband John of Andover, KS; Nine grandchildren, Matthew Roberts and wife Mariah, Marc Roberts and wife Chelsea, Ethan, Evan, and Emily Cromwell, Barrett, Shelbie, Nathan, and Savannah Smith; one great granddaughter, Madelyn Roberts. She was precededed in death by her parents, her husband, one son Bruce Smith, two brothers, Jerome and John Budde, and two sisters, Marie Brennan and Dorothy Mohler. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, KS 67124. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 28, 2011 at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Belpre, KS with Father Warren Stecklein officiating. Burial will be at the Belpre Cemetery, Belpre, KS. Memorials may be made to the Kansas 4-H Foundation, 116 Umberger Hall, KSU, Manhattan, KS, 66506 in care of Larrison Mortuary.
