Eugene Conner

E.E. “Gene” Conner, age 87, of Medicine Lodge, KS died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1926 in Medicine Lodge, KS, the son of Elmer William Conner and Dora Violet (Davis) Conner. Mr. Conner was a member of the East Cross Methodist Church, Bartlesville, OK and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was also a member of the Delta Lodge, #77, Masonic, the V.F.W. and American Legion of Medicine Lodge, KS, the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara (Rodgers) Conner, a daughter, Karen Jean Bell, and a brother, Chester Conner.

Surviving are two sons, Rodger M. Conner and wife Raquel of Moore, OK and Steve E. Conner and wife Judy of Copan, OK; one daughter, Sandy Wood and husband Rick of Dewey, OK; 9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren; two sisters, Maida Ann Packard of Medicine Lodge, KS and Esther Firth of Oklahoma City, OK.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation on Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Judy Conner officiating. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, KS, with military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
