Pratt, KS Glenda Pearl Shumway Ellison, 92, died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham, Kansas. She was born August 26, 1920 in rural Preston, KS the daughter of Glen and Hazel (Leroux) Shumway. On April 6, 1941 she married Lloyd Ellison in Hutchinson, KS. He died October 15, 2000.

Glenda lived in the Preston area all her life and was a mother and homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Pratt and had been active with the Preston United Methodist Church, Preston Senior Citizens, and volunteered with the food commodity program and the Pratt County Historical Museum.

She is survived by children Janet (Doug) Van Buskirk of Towanda, KS; Michael (Marlene) Ellison of Fruitland, MD; David (Peggy) Ellison of Pratt, KS; Kristi Palone of Wichita, KS; Cathy (Randy) Krueger of Kechi, KS; two brothers, Dale Shumway of Hutchinson, Merlin Shumway of Pratt, two sisters, Lovara Rein of Johnstone, CO, Karen Troyer, Ellinwood, KS; 14 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents,a grandson, Curtis Demoret, two sisters, Alma Shumway and Ella Glenn, two brothers, Lloyd and Ronald Shumway.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, KS 67124, where family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Larrison Mortuary. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt, KS, with Dr. Dan Ferguson presiding. Burial will be in the Pleasant Valley (Geist) Cemetery, Preston. Memorials may be made to 1st United Methodist Church in Pratt or Youthville both in care of the mortuary. Condolences may be left at www.larrisonmortuary.com.
