Pratt, KS Asuzu Edward Ibeawuchi, 83, died Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt, Kansas. He was born November 15, 1928 in Lagos, Nigeria the son of Thomas and Margaret (Uzoruwu) Ibeawuchi. A resident of Pratt since 1970, he was a Technician in the Oil Field.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th Degree Knight, both in Pratt, KS. On June 10, 1953 he married Shirle A. Bright at Wichita, KS. She survives.

Other survivors include three daughters Adamma & Thomas Jowhar of Sebring, FL, Nne Nne Ibeawuchi of Mirimar, FL, Jane Ibeawuchi & Tom Wenthe of Chesapeake, VA; Asuzu Jr. & LaTonya Ibeawuchi (son) of Mirimar, FL; a son Bright & Qingzhen Ibeawuchi of Houston, TX; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; seven brothers, John Ibeawuchi of Umahia, Nigeria, Ben Ibeawuchi of Enugu, Nigeria, Michael & Charity Ibeawuchi of Abuja, Nigeria; Patrick & Prisca Ibeawuchi of Owerri, Nigeria; Cornelius Ibeawuchi of Lagos, Nigeria; Fabian Ibeawuchi of Lagos, Nigeria; Godwin & Appolonia Ibeawuchi of Lagos, Nigeria; five sisters Florence Chineme, Agatha Nzewuibe, Monica Duru, Stella Azubuike, Julianna Uwaleke, and a sister-in-law Dorothy Ibeawuchi, Owerri, Nigeria.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Philomina Ibeawuchi, Paulette Erinugha, Anna Otuonye, and five brothers Godfrey, Jacob, Lawrence, Joseph and Norbert Ibeawuchi.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 21, 2012 and 1:00 p.m. until Vigil Time, Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt, KS 67124. Vigil Service will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt, KS Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt, KS with Father Floyd McKinney officiating.
