Robert Frederick Winzeler, born July 22, 1948 to Frederick W. & Dorothy Mahon Winzeler in Emporia, Kansas, passed away on March 1, 2012. He is survived by his mother Marjorie King Winzeler of Madison, Kansas, sisters Mary Frances Bergner of Pratt, Kansas, Doris Anne Trcka and husband Richard of Richardson, Texas, nephews Tom (Judi) Bergner, John (Chuck Stewart) Bergner, Jim (Lisa) Bergner, Bill (Shannon) Bergner, John (Ginny) Trcka, Rob (Diane) Trcka, Joe (Lisa) Trcka, as well as many great nieces and nephews. He spent his early years on the farm in Lamont Kansas, graduated from Madison High School; then Kansas State University. His career in retail sales, centering on high-end men’s and women’s apparel, took place mostly in the Kansas City and Dallas areas. He was the area representative for Dooney & Bourke for many years and the owner of two Dallas stores “Purple Planet” and “Wildcats & Bears”. When he retired, he moved to his home in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. He was an avid sports fan. His support for Kansas State started in college, where he was the mascot “Willie the Wildcat.” He continued his love and support for K-State throughout his life. He was known for his cooking skills and had many lifelong friends. To his friends, he was “Bunz.” The family expresses their gratitude to Bob’s friends and caregivers, Bob Lemon, Cathy Edwards, Stan Burch, and Renee Griffin. Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service will be held at the Apostolic Christian Cemetery in Lamont, Kansas, on Saturday, March 17, 2012.
